On behalf of NYFP synergy constituted of eight (08) youth-focused organizations operating
across the ten (10) Regions of Cameroon, I write to your high office to solicit your
partnership in organizing a National Youth Forum for Peace aimed at promoting youth
advocacy for peace and reducing youth radicalization in Cameroon.
Again on behalf of the team, I wish to commend the United States Embassy’s impactful
contributions towards consolidating peace in Cameroon and its humanitarian support to
conflict-infested communities as well as victims of war. The recent visit to the U.S
Ambassador to the Far North is a testimony to the Embassy’s Commitment to peacebuilding.
Dear Sir, the National Youth Forum for Peace will mobilize and engage at least 1,000 youth
peace promoters from the ten (10) regions of Cameroons to be foot soldiers for ambassadors
in the fight against youth radicalization in the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon and in the
Northern Regions of Cameroon. It will identify and train 100 youth leaders for two (02) days
on strategic youth advocacy. It will design recommendations to stakeholders on possible
solutions to reduce youth radicalization in crisis-infested Regions and hold a one-day interactive session with government officials, intergovernmental organizations, diplomatic
missions, victims of the crisis and youth leaders.
It is in line with this that the team is mobilizing additional resources to support this initiative,
entangled with the celebration of International Peace Day to take place at the Yaounde
Congress Hall in September 2023.
The Mandela Washington Fellows Association Cameroon is one of the aforementioned
organizers and is in charge of following up on the NYFP partnership with the United States of
Cameroon.
